Rock of Ages Day 1: P@ulE gets to Tampa, Florida in prep for rehearsals
This morning, I woke up in my regular stupor, thinking about life, music, drums, and the fact that yet again I’m leaving my beautiful girlfriend behind in one of the coolest cities CHICAGO to go out and do what I do for a living; play drums.
On the airplane, which was almost first class………..wait does that make sense? I was struck with a whirlwind of emotions, thinking about the past, present and future. Is my music career blossming? Is it getting worse….who am I……man I love this song……….man, Jenn is really gonna miss me…………………who wrote………………
Good songs really do hit me though…………………………………………..
Then I landed……………. a warm freaken Tampa, Florida. I’m stoked! My hotel for the next 30 days is rad because I got a fridge, a 30 in” flat screen and a kind size bed and it doesn’t get cut out of my pay check; score!
How cool is this gig? Well not sure yet but there was free beer at check in today…………..that’s pretty cool!!!
Please expect a lot and I mean a lot of cool video updates from my new ROCK OF AGES GIG! Whilst performing and in between ROA, I will be writing a lot of music. It’s my hope to have an album by the end of the this contract, an album for my original project Dead Original where I sing and play guitar. I want Dead Original to hit a national level. Plans are to record the album in NOV thru DEC and then shop it around. Essentially, I’d like to hit the road in 2014 to support the record.
